From Facebook hello to a confirmed sit — organised in one place
The Facebook group is where Australia's house sitters and homeowners meet. HSA at https://hsa.oze.au is where you list, apply, message, agree, and manage sits without losing track in comment threads.

How It Works for Homeowners
1. Join free
Sign up at hsa.oze.au as a homeowner. No credit card needed while listing is free until 31 December 2026.
2. Create your listing
Describe your home, dates, pets, and what you need from a sitter. Add photos and pet care details so sitters know what to expect.
Your full street address is never shown on public listing cards. Only suburb and postcode appear — sitters find you locally without your exact address being public.
3. Review applications
Sitters apply through the app. You see their profiles, verification badges, and messages in one place — not scattered across Facebook comments.
Shortlist the people you like. Send polite decline messages to others with one tap.
4. Chat privately
Message shortlisted sitters directly. Ask questions, arrange a video call, and get comfortable before you decide.
5. Agree and confirm
When you choose a sitter, use a digital sit agreement and pet care cards so expectations are clear before anyone arrives.
Full address and contact details are shared through the agreement with your chosen sitter — not on the public listing.
6. Enjoy peace of mind
Your home and pets are in trusted hands. The listing stays organised in your account long after a Facebook post would have disappeared.
How It Works for Sitters
1. Join and choose your plan
Sign up at hsa.oze.au as a sitter. Founding Members can join for $12 for the first year until 31 December 2026. See /pricing/ for current offers.
2. Build your profile
Add your bio, experience, photos, and optional verification badges. Show homeowners who you are and what you offer.
Optional: identity verification (green tick), Police Check, or Working With Children Check. These are badges that build trust — none are forced on you.
3. Search in plain English
Look for sits that suit your lifestyle. Indoor cats, coastal getaways, garden watering, horses — every sit is different. Search by location and dates to find opportunities across Australia.
4. Apply with confidence
Read full pet information on the listing before you apply. No guessing from a one-line Facebook comment.
5. Message and agree
Chat with the homeowner, clarify details, and review the sit agreement and pet care cards before you travel.
6. Do the sit
Arrive with clear expectations on both sides. Complete the sit knowing you have a proper record of what was agreed.
Trust and Privacy
House sitting works because people trust each other. HSA helps with:
Verified profiles (ID, address, and phone verification available)
Optional Police Check and WWC badges
Suburb-only public listings — full address shared only with your chosen sitter via the sit agreement
Digital sit agreements
Detailed pet care cards
Real-time messaging inside the app
Verification badges confirm certain details. They are not a guarantee of character — always do your own checks, references, and conversations before agreeing to a sit.
